If you have any questions about applying Storm Apparel Proofer to your garment, please get in touch.

  • STEP 1

Add one or two garments depending on size into the washing machine. Avoid overfilling your drum, technical garments need to move freely to make the most of both mechanical and chemical cleaning.

  • STEP 2

Pour 75ml of Storm proofer into the conditioning compartment. (We always recommend washing at the same time using Storm Apparel Wash in preparation of re-proofing).

  • STEP 3

Set your machine to a 30 degree synthetic low spin cycle or a technical sport garment setting if available. It's important to avoid using any household detergent during this process.

  • STEP 4

When complete, hang to drip dry for at least 20 minutes.

  • STEP 5

Follow garment care instructions for drying. Heat by tumble drying or iron with a clean damp cloth between the garment and iron to activate the durable water repellent treatment.

FAQ'S

How many garments can I wash in one wash cycle?

We recommend washing 1-2 garments per 75ml of solution allowing the garments to move freely in the machine. It’s estimated 60% of any cleaning process is mechanical, 40% chemical. Overfilling your machine drum will restrict movement and reduce performance.

Will I damage my garment or washing machine?

Our wash and proof is specifically formulated to lift contaminants from technical apparel without damaging the manufacturers original treatment. Always check the care label of your garment before tumble drying.

Do I need to tumble dry?

For best results, we recommend tumble drying as our wash-in DWR treatment is heat activated. However, if not available you can iron your garment with a clean damp cloth between the garment & iron. Alternatively hang by a radiator or in a warm boiler room.

Why are Storm bottles smaller than other brands?

Storm wash and proof is a higher concentrated solution. We use less water in our product, reducing environmental impact without reducing performance.
